Your report on the health benefits of ginger has my support. Please allow me to add. Ginger is super herb during cold, flu, runny nose and chest congestion. Boil a large piece of smashed ginger in 1.5 liter water until contents reduces to 1 liter, then pour it into a bowl. Then get a towel, cover your head like a canvas onto the steaming bowl and start breathing the vapor. For asthma patients, ginger boiled with fenugreek can be consumed as tea. Similarly, during cold weather a tea concoction of ginger, coriander and cardamom seeds mixed with powdered milk can bring joy to your taste buds and at same keep the chest colds at bay. Consuming ginger can also increase your appetite and aid digestion. Yes, I agree it will relief nausea and vomiting, however when taken in high doses it may induce miscarriage at least in early pregnancy. It can also relief menstrual cramps and induce menstruation when doses are high. There is another type of ginger which is red in color and smaller version, mainly found in Borneo Island where I work, is very strong, pungent but has the same health benefits. The local men use it as an aphrodisiac.
